Terms of Use

Effective October 23, 2026

1. About these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Locals Feed (“we”, “us”), which runs locals-feed.com and its community sites. By using Locals Feed, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. We may update these terms; the effective date above shows when they last changed, and continuing to use the site means you accept the current version.

2. What Locals Feed is

Locals Feed collects public posts from local organizations (such as town and county offices, nonprofits, clubs, and businesses) into a chronological page for each community. It has no ads, no algorithmic ranking, and no comments. Each post shows its source and links to the original.

Locals Feed is not an emergency notification service. Posts can arrive late, incompletely, or not at all. For emergencies, call 911. For official alerts, follow the issuing agency directly.

3. Content from organizations

  • Posts, captions, images, names, and logos shown on Locals Feed belong to the organizations that published them, or to their licensors. We don't claim ownership of them.
  • We show short excerpts with attribution and a link to the original post. Images are displayed from where they were originally published; we don't host copies.
  • We don't write, edit, or verify this content, and we're not responsible for its accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. The original post is the authoritative version.

4. Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms

  • Locals Feed is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta Platforms, Inc. or any other platform. Facebook and Instagram are trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc. Other names and marks belong to their owners. We refer to them only to identify where a post was originally published.
  • Locals Feed does not log in to, or collect data directly from, Facebook, Instagram, or other platforms. Posts reach us as feeds (for example, RSS) from third-party feed services and from organizations' own websites.
  • Links to original posts take you to those platforms, where their own terms and privacy policies apply.
  • If a platform or a rights holder asks us to stop displaying certain content, we will review the request promptly and remove the content where appropriate.

5. Removal requests and copyright

Organizations can ask us to stop including their posts at any time, at hello@locals-feed.com.

For copyright or other rights concerns, email hello@locals-feed.com with:

  1. the content concerned, with a link to it on Locals Feed;
  2. the original work and your relationship to it;
  3. your contact information; and
  4. a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized.

We aim to respond within 2 business days and remove content where appropriate.

6. Your account

  • Reading Locals Feed never requires an account. Signing in with Google is optional and only saves your settings.
  • You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete my account. See our Privacy Policy for what we store.
  • We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms.

7. Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • scrape, crawl, or bulk-download Locals Feed, or put unreasonable load on it;
  • republish Locals Feed's compiled feeds, or present them as your own service;
  • try to access admin areas or other people's accounts, or interfere with how the site works; or
  • use Locals Feed for anything unlawful.

8. No warranties; limitation of liability

Locals Feed is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, including availability, accuracy, or timeliness of posts. To the fullest extent the law allows, we're not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from relying on content shown on Locals Feed. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

9. Changes and ending service

We may change, suspend, or discontinue Locals Feed or any part of it at any time.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts for Gunnison County, Colorado.
